With Firefox the new upload system works just fine. Try it, you won't want to go back to IE.

NOT TRUE I am still having issue with the "NEW & UNIMPROVED Upload Interface" even with Firefox!!! I keep getting error messages every other file & when I try to bypass the stupid flash interface I get this dialog box & nothing changes no matter how long I wait.... See Attached Image File

so you are getting some files at least (i was imagining you were getting 100% upload fails).

i'm guessing the specific server you are uploading to isn't responding well for this specific item.

if you want to avoid flash (and unfortunately, progress feedback) you can following the "prefer to not use flash?" link to use a standard form-based
uploader underlying technique.

I have had some files upload ok but I just tried to upload the ones that failed & they all failed to upload again. Also I just tried to click on the Share My Files button & keep getting that same DiaBox saying I have to wait even tho it already gave me a an Identifier...
Please see my image files....

This thing is NOT working as advertised & I am very very frustrated.... I never had any problems using FTP & have had nothing but problems since...

I just spent all evening trying to upload & half my files had the I/O error that if I had uploading using FTP would never have happened & I would be done by now.. As it is I am expected to go thru this grueling process of selecting files that didn't get uploaded & hope that they make this time?

i wouldn't be too sure about this:

"if I had uploading using FTP would never have happened & I would be done by now.."

when we were using FTP for the uploaders, we got very frequent issues of uploading not working at all -- like 100% failures. we had constant problems maintaining the nearly 1000 ftp servers.

now, down to 1 ftp upload server, we can't handle the upload load of the entire user base.

i won't get into the "we surveyed the other major video and image upload sites for HTTP vs FTP" because i've learned that our patrons either seem to believe in/like HTTP or they don't.

we've had some bugs, most of which we fixed (yours is the only active reporting of errors that i know of right now -- i may be "out of it" but i've been trying to stay on top of uploader issues). hopefully transient server issues won't be plaguing our users (i *personally* have never seen it in all my testing and huge file uploading tests, etc.) so we will try to see if we can get better reliability there...

that specific dialog warning is not an error.
it means you (likely) hadn't waited long enough
between *after* entering all the title information
and before hitting the submit button.

that is, one can fill out the identifier information
(in the case of LMA/etree, 2-3 fields; for all others,
the title). once the boxes are filled in, it sends
a query to the server to assign you an identifier.

folks need to wait for that result to return
and that [submit] fail check is a 2ndary check
to ensure the result comes back. if we didn't
do that, we'd have an awful situation where your
files wind up stuck in limbo and all the uploading
gets lost.
